It’s been an adventure filled summer. I reunited with my old boyfriend (circa late 80s) and went on two great road trips along the east coast. A quick list of things I did this summer for the first time includes: shooting a gun, running moonshine, picking apples, standing behind a roaring waterfall in North Carolina, visiting a roadside goat attraction and attending a Pittsburgh Steelers game.
I have wanted to visit Eleuthera for the longest time. It was The Bahamas’ first seat of government, before Nassau took over. It is famous for its pink sand beaches. I’m looking forward to some fresh island cooking. Cracked conch, peas and rice and other Bahamian specialties are making my mouth water.
I’m getting ready to leave my job and travel around the world. It’s simply time. I’ve got visions of passport stamps dancing in my head. So, I’m packing away my office, gathering my writing samples from the past 12 years, and heading out for some adventure.
